| Periwinkle is a genus of four species of evergreen sub-shrubs in the family Apocynaceae, native to Europe, northwest Africa and southwest Asia. The flowers, produced through most of the year, are like those of Phlox with five usually violet (occasionally white) petals joined together at the base to form a tube. As well as growing in gardens, we have seen Periwinkle growing in the hedgerows on our many walks in the countryside. |
